Royal Farms To Re-Open Sept. 5
Spokesman said a renovations delay pushed back the re-opening date.

The renovations on the Havre de Grace should be complete in a about a month, a spokesman for the convenience store chain told Patch Monday.
Patch first reported in June that the store was undergoing an expansion and renovations, and that chicken would be served once the store was complete. At the time, an estimated date of completion was late July.
Monday, Royal Farms spokesman Ed Stronski said the renovations have been delayed.

“It is scheduled to be complete Sept. 5,” Stronski said. “It was originally set to be completed Aug. 29. The most recent [update] that I got today says Sept. 5.”
A city source with knowledge of the renovations said extra gas tanks from a previous property owner were found at the site, slowing the construction process.

Stronski wasn’t aware of that issue and said he would look into what caused a delay in the opening date.
Stronski said that in order to expand, Royal Farms purchased a property adjacent to its current location at the corner of Juniata and Revolution streets.
