Top MD Wind Gusts Town By Town For March 2 2018
What were the top wind speeds Friday? Preliminary reports are here from across Maryland, thanks to the National Weather Service.

BALTIMORE, MD — Weather forecasters predicted winds speeds could hit 70 miles per hour Friday as a nor'easter moved into Maryland, and they weren't wrong. The latest wind gusts released by the National Weather Service show that Ballenger Creek in Frederick County recorded a wind speed of 71 mph, the strongest blast in the state so far.
Many communities saw wind gusts of 60 mph or higher with a high wind warning in effect until 6 a.m. Saturday across the state. As the storm strengthened it reached the category now known as a bomb cyclone. Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan declared a state of emergency Friday evening. Authorities warned of dangerous driving conditions, projectiles that could injure pedestrians, power outages from fallen tree limbs, and broken windows from flying debris.
The National Weather Service provided the following preliminary measurements from around the state, collected by weather spotters, media and government agencies. All data was collected on Friday, March 2.
