Voluntary Evacuation In Port Deposit Announced
BREAKING: A voluntary evacuation order has been issued in Port Deposit due to Conowingo Dam gates opening.
PORT DEPOSIT, MD — The town of Port Deposit has issued a voluntary evacuation order Thursday morning. Mayor Wayne Tome and the Town Council issued the order at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 26.
Town officials said they issued the emergency notice because the Conowingo Dam will be opening 22 to 27 spill gates by midnight.
Those who need transportation or have questions should call Port Deposit Town Hall at 410-378-2121.
