Harford County Gets 'Mixed Bag' During Winter Snowstorm: Glassman
Icy spots are possible on Harford County roads after multiple days of winter weather.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — In what has become a multi-day winter weather event, Harford County has received more than 7 inches of snow. That was based on preliminary data submitted to the National Weather Service, and more snow is falling.
"We’ve had a mixed bag," County Executive Barry Glassman told WBFF before 8 a.m. Tuesday. "We got some heavy bands and still are getting some heavy bands" of snow in Harford County, he said, noting ice also accumulated.
Here are the latest snow totals from Harford County, based on preliminary reports submitted to the National Weather Service:

- Forest Hill — 7.5 inches at 9:30 p.m. Monday
- Norrisville — 7 inches at 6:20 p.m. Monday
- Forest Hill — 5.3 inches at 5:30 p.m. Monday
- Abingdon — 3.5 inches at 7 p.m. Monday
"State roads seem to be clear," Glassman said.
Less than 0.5 inch snow is possible, and roads may become slushy or icy, especially
after sunset, according to a special weather statement the National Weather Service issued Tuesday afternoon. Drivers should use caution.

Harford County was under a winter weather advisory until 1 p.m. Tuesday calling for up to 2 inches of additional accumulation and potentially hazardous driving conditions. Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties as well as Baltimore City were also under the winter weather advisory.
The bridge over Deer Creek on MD 161 is closed for repairs, the State Highway Administration reported, after a crash there Monday.
The National Weather Service forecast for Bel Air calls for a high near 32 and low of 26 degrees with snow falling throughout the day and wind gusts greater than 30 mph.
A 34 mph wind gust was reported on the Tydings Bridge before 8:50 a.m., and both it and the Hatem Bridge were under wind warnings.
BGE and Delmarva Power had crews staging in Harford County in case of outages, according to the Harford County executive.
"We don’t really have any outages in the county," Glassman said. "We're just starting to pick up some of those winds."
