Shed Fire's Spread Stopped By Quick Acting Firefighters
The state fire marshal's office has credited firefighters and their quick actions for halting the spread of a yard shed fire.

EDGEWOOD, MD — A yard shed caught on fire Friday afternoon at a property in Edgewood. Officials credit firefighters' quick action with preventing the shed's fire from spreading to the home.
The fire broke out just before 3:30 p.m. near the home located in the 600 block of Haven Place. The shed measured 10x25 feet.
According to the state fire marshal's office, the owner saw smoke coming from shed. He opened the shed's side door and found flames. The owner hollered at his wife who called 911. Firefighters with the Abingdon Fire Company had the fire extinguished in 10 minutes.

The state fire marshal's office has estimated damage and loss of content at $25,000.
