Man Injured from Fall into Culvert at Perryman Plant: Officials

A helicopter took him for treatment, Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS reported.

A man was in serious condition after falling approximately 20 feet into a concrete culvert Thursday morning, according to Harford County officials.

At 8:19 a.m., first responders were notified that a person was trapped in a confined space in the 1200 block of Chelsea Road, the Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association reported.

The incident occurred at the Sod Run Wastewater Treatment Plant, the report said, and the Aberdeen Fire Department and Harford County Technical Rescue Team responded to help get the man out.

By 9:21 a.m., the man was released and taken by helicopter to a regional trauma center, where he was in serious condition, according to the report.

The Maryland Occupational Safety Health Administration and Harford County Sheriff's Office were investigating, the report said.
