Softball: Warriors Win on Homers, Bunts

Havre de Grace defeated division champs Bo Manor, 4-3, Thursday.

Tori Caine homered twice Thursday to drive the Warriors' offense, but it was small ball that won the game for Havre de Grace in the bottom of the seventh.

After Emily Lewis singled, Sarah Scott laid down a bunt single, and Alison Lewis put down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners. Kelsey McRoberts laid down another bunt for a 4-3 win against division champions Bo Manor.

Caine homered twice, and Stefanie Pollack stole third base, forcing an error to score one of the Warriors' first three runs.

Bo Manor scored in the top of the first, and Havre de Grace answered in the bottom of the frame. The Eagles scored twice in the top of the third and Havre de Grace scored single runs in the fourth and fifth while holding Bo Manor quiet for the rest of the game.

The Warriors are 11-5 overall and 9-4 in the Susquehanna Division. Bo Manor is 13-4 and 12-2 in the Susquehanna Division. Bo Manor will play Chesapeake Division champions Rising Sun for the UCBAC championship game May 9 at Rising Sun.

The MPSSAA tournament draw for softball will be held May 10.
