The 60-year-old oyster ship that drops her anchor in Havre de Grace will soon be able to hold her sails a little taller. A new mast for the <a href="http://www.skipjackmarthalewis.org/skipjack-martha-lewis.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Skipjack Martha Lewis</a> arrived in Havre de Grace on Thursday complete with police escort. It was hauled in from the Eastern Shore after a five-state search for the right tree. The mast was delivered around 1 p.m. on Thursday to the site of the old Save-a-Lot site on Market Street, according to Dianne Klair, who has been volunteering to raise funds for restoration of the Martha Lewis. McLean Contracting, the company that is working on the Hatem Bridge and staging its equipment on Water Street, provided the transport, according to Klair. Next, the tree will be shaped into a mast, which Klair said the public will be able to watch.
