HdG Man Charged in Woods Stabbing Near Bay View Estates

The Havre de Grace Police Department said the incident did not appear to be drug-related.

A Grace Harbour man was charged with first-degree assault in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the woods near Bay View Estates over the weekend, police said.

At 10:14 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called to Harford Memorial Hospital, where a man was being treated for stab wounds, according to the Havre de Grace Police Department.

The victim met a man in the woods near Lori Lane and Brian Garth, and when they were about to part ways, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim twice in the neck, police said.

The suspect left the area, and the victim went to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released, police said.

At 12:30 a.m. Monday, the man accused in the stabbing turned himself in to the police department.

Timothy Scott Young, 21, of the 100 block of Remington Circle, was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a dangerous weapon, police said.

The stabbing was "an isolated incident and does not appear to be drug related," Havre de Grace police said.
