Barry Glassman To Declare Intentions In June
Glassman, a state senator, is considered a potential candidate to replace outgoing Harford County Executive David R. Craig.
State Senator Barry Glassman, considered a candidate for Harford County executive in 2014, will declare his future political intentions at a June 8 announcement in his native community of Level.
Glassman, a Republican representing District 35, will host a "Coming Home Announcement" from 5 to 8 p.m. on June 8 at the Level Volunteer Fire House, according to a statement from his office.
The Darlington resident has been a member of the state senate since 2008. Prior to that, he served as a state delegate for nine years and a county councilman for nine years.

Glassman, 51, is widely considered to be a candidate for Harford County executive, and a statement from his office said, "Many local observers and leaders in Annapolis have been speculating that Sen. Glassman will announce a run for Harford County Executive."
Harford County Executive David R. Craig is in his final term and is planning to make his own political announcement on June 4 from his home in Havre de Grace. Multiple reports indicate Craig will declare his intentions to run for governor.

Both positions—governor and county executive—will be on the ballot in Nov. 2014.
Making the announcement in Level, where he's a member of the volunteer fire company, carried symbolic significance, Glassman said.
"The village of Level has played such an important part in my life, and there was no other place where I would consider making this announcement," Glassman said in the statement. "We'll have hundreds of enthusiastic supporters in attendance, and I can't wait to share my vision for the future with them and with the citizens of this great county."
Glassman and his wife, Debi, have one son and own a sheep farm in the Darlington area, according to the release.
