Students Brighten Havre de Grace Activity Center with Fall Project

The Havre de Grace Homeschool Gym took class outside for beautification effort.

The Havre de Grace Activity Center got a little pick-me-up recently, courtesy of nearly 30 children.

A group of home-schooled students, who join together for gym class at the activity center on Mondays and Wednesdays, pitched in for a beautification project.

Approximately 29 students spread mulch and picked up garbage around the activity center on Lewis Lane, according to parent Amy Kukuck, who helps with the “homeschool gym.”

“The activity center asked if our kids would be willing to help,” Kukuck said, and on Oct. 20, they grabbed their shovels, rakes and wheelbarrow and got to work.

Pitching in was an act of gratitude for the group, she said.

Kukuck said she was “thankful the Havre de Grace Activity Center allows us to have our gym classes there, and the children were very happy to help them with this task.”
