SUV Sinks In Susquehanna River: VIDEO

A car was submerged off the shores of Havre de Grace Tuesday in the Susquehanna.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A vehicle was seen sinking near the Jean S. Roberts Memorial Park boat launch Tuesday evening in Havre de Grace, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company. See the video at the bottom of the article.

Crews said that the vehicle appeared to be unoccupied when they responded to the scene at approximately 8 p.m. near the railroad bridge, and divers were dispatched to investigate.

Members of the Coast Guard, Havre de Grace Police Department and Maryland Department of Natural Resources also responded to the area.

At 9:15 p.m., the hose company said that it was clearing the scene due to nightfall.

It was the second incident where the Susquehanna Hose Company's divers were called on Tuesday evening; they were also handling an investigation at the Perryville Pier, where someone went underwater and did not resurface.

Divers would continue their searches Wednesday morning, officials said.
