Tank Explodes in Havre de Grace, Injuring One: Officials

The Susquehanna Hose Company said one person was burned Friday afternoon.

One person suffered severe burns after a tank exploded in Havre de Grace Friday afternoon, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company.

Crews were dispatched at 1:27 p.m. to the 300 block of Old Bay Lane for a reported burn injury.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., the hose company reported that it was at the scene of an acetylene tank explosion in the 300 block of Old Bay Lane.

A man had been scraping the tank when it exploded, burning his upper body, including his face, according to WBAL, which reported he was flown to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
