"The Heat is On" Tonight at Arts by the Bay

This is an extraordinarily busy weekend in the arts in our community.  As I have previously written, it is the final weekend for the Tidewater Players' production of "Spamalot" (http://http//havredegrace.patch.com/groups/performing-arts-in-havre-de-grace/p/a-round-table-a-killer-rabbit-and-ni).  On top of that, the Teen Troupe of the Havre de Grace Drama Guild is presenting "The Taming of the Shrew" (an abbreviated version) at 7:00 pm tonight at the HdG Activity Center (admission is free), and just across the river in Perryville, Good Shepherd Catholic School is presenting Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" Saturday at 7:00 pm and Sunday at 2:00 pm (http//havredegrace.patch.com/groups/performing-arts-in-havre-de-grace/p/work-a-shrew-and-a-mermaid-into-your-weekend-plans ).

On top of all that, the Arts by the Bay Gallery is hosting a reception tonight for its new summer exhibit, "The Heat is On."  Come by and see the collection of paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, textiles and mosaics.  You will also have the opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists, including tonight's featured artist, Autumn Kulaga.  Hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Laurrapin Local and there will be a cash beer and wine bar.

The reception is tonight, May 16, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Arts by the Bay Gallery, 500 B Warren Street, Havre de Grace.  For more information, call (410)409-1336, (410)939-1818, or (410)939-4441.
