Trash Throwing Leads to Hutchins Park Assault: Police

An assault was reported in Hutchins Park Wednesday night, where a dispute broke out on a fishing pier, according to the Havre de Grace Police Department.

At 10 p.m., a woman and her daughter were fishing from the pier at the park off Congress Avenue when a group of juveniles started throwing trash at them, police said.

The woman began throwing the trash back at the children, when a man yelled at her to stop throwing things at the kids, according to the report.

The man knocked the woman's hat off her head, took her fishing knife and threw it in the water, police said.

The suspect was described as a man in his early thirties with gold teeth and a scruffy beard, according to police.
