Crashes Near Tydings Bridge Slow Holiday Traffic

There have been multiple crashes around the Tydings Bridge as Memorial Day travelers hit the road.

More than 550,000 people are expected to travel along Interstate 95 in Maryland this weekend, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. As travelers head to their Memorial Day weekend destinations, several crashes have slowed their journeys.

In particular, collisions have popped up around the Tydings Bridge.

Before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported that a crash near the Tydings Bridge had cleared, the second so far Saturday morning.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened in the area of I-95 north at mile post 91 after 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 25.

By 10:15 a.m., the crash had cleared and lanes had reopened.

During the response, the right lane and right shoulder were closed on I-95 in the area.

This was what it looked like on the bridge after 10 a.m.:

The Susquehanna Hose Company reported it was at the scene, where at least one person was injured.

"This makes the third crash on I-95 in our area since last night," the hose company reported. "Please use caution while traveling this holiday weekend."

Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, there was another crash on the bridge.

That one had briefly closed the left lane, which reopened by 9:25 a.m.

On Friday night, a crash near mile post 91.3 before blocked lanes in the area as well.

By 8:40 p.m. on Friday, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported that crash had cleared.

The Susquehanna Hose Company had also responded to a crash on I-95 between the Earlton and Chapel road overpasses; that crash was on I-95 south around 9 p.m. on Friday. At least one person was injured.
