Tydings Bridge Delays Linger After Car Carrier Fire
An incident during rush hour caused 8 miles of backups, Maryland Transportation Authority reported.
Miles of backups remained after a vehicle fire broke out during rush hour near the Tydings Bridge, according to transportation officials.
Delays began after 6:30 p.m. from a vehicle fire that shut down all lanes of I-95 north of the bridge, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority. The vehicle involved was a car carrier.
There was a 5-mile backup by 7 p.m., which had built to an 8-mile backup and spilled over to the US 40/Hatem Bridge area by 8:30 p.m., the authority reported.

At approximately 9 p.m., all lanes were open and there was a 4-mile backup on Interstate 95 north in the area of the bridge, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported.
