Volunteer Fireman Comes To Rescue Near Concord Cove: SHCO
A Susquehanna Hose Company firefighter rescued a man from the Chesapeake Bay Saturday morning, officials said.
HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — The Susquehanna Hose Company prides itself on its quick response time. But one of its members who was out kayaking actually completed a water rescue before the hose company's crew arrived Saturday morning, the volunteer fire company reported.
It was before 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, when the call for a water rescue came in, as there was a man whose kayak had flipped over in the Chesapeake Bay near Concord Cove, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company.
Fireman Grant Morris was in the area in his kayak, and he pulled the man from the water, retrieved his kayak and brought him to shore near the Concord Cove Apartments, the hose company reported, just as its crew was nearing the scene.
