Warrior Pride Marching Band Bound for NYC Parade

The Havre de Grace High School marching band will play in New York City for the Veterans Day Parade.

If you watch the Veterans Day Parade in New York City next week, look out for the Havre de Grace High School Warrior Pride Marching Band.

The nationally televised parade will air on Channel CW 24 at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.

"This is the first time the Warrior Pride Band has performed in New York City and the first time performing in a nationally televised event," according to Richard Hauf, band director for Havre de Grace High School.

The Warrior Pride band sent an audition tape in 2012 to enter and was accepted, Hauf said, but the band couldn't make it on short notice and so will march in the 2013 Veterans Day Parade instead.

"In addition to the parade, we will be participating in the Band of Pride Tribute to our Veterans on Sunday," Hauf said. That event brings students from across the country together for a time of reflection and music-making in Times Square.

The Warrior Pride marching band performed recently in the Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, D.C.
