Warriors Football Defeats Panthers, 23-13

Boys varsity football beat Perryville away in Cecil County.

On homecoming night for the Perryville Panthers, the Havre de Grace Warriors were the ones returning home to Harford County with a victory.

Warriors football defeated the Panthers, 23-13, in Thursday's matchup, Warriors Athletics reported.

Josh Penn scored a 41-yard touchdown and Shawn Cardwell put two additional touchdowns on the board for the Warriors, according to the Cecil Whig.

A fourth-quarter shotgun snap by the Panthers that rolled into their own end zone added a two-point safety to the Warriors' lead, The Aegis reported.

The Panthers had been on a 25-game winning streak until a loss last week to the C. Milton Wright Mustangs, according to the Rising Sun Herald.

This was the first time Havre de Grace won the Susquehanna Cup Trophy in three years against rival Perryville.
