Warriors on the Move in Realignment?
Proposed reclassification of MPSSAA would leave Havre de Grace as lone 1A school in Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference
The playoffs could become a lonely place for the Warriors next year.
In a proposed realignment schedule released by the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association, Havre de Grace is the only Harford County team scheduled to remain in the North region of the 1A classification, which could make for lengthy postseason road trips.
There are, however, two Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference teams from Cecil County that would remain in the state's smallest classification: Bohemia Manor and nearby Perryville.

Instead of playing in the 1A East, though, the three UCBAC teams would be moved to the 1A North. Nine of the 12 teams in the proposed region would come from Baltimore and Prince George's County, while 10 teams would remain in the 1A East.
Harford Tech, Joppatowne and Patterson Mill, are set to move to the 2A East region if the realignment is approved. Edgewood and Fallston are already in the 2A East and scheduled to remain there along with Cecil County's Elkton, North East and Rising Sun,

Joining C. Milton Wright, Aberdeen and North Harford in the 3A North would be Fallston, which is currently a 2A school.
The UCBAC has no 4A schools.
The proposed realignment schedule is a result of Thursday's meting of the MPSSAA Classification Committee. The proposed new alignment schedule, which would be effective from the fall of 2011 through the spring of 2013, will go before the MPSSAA Board of Control on Dec. 9 for final approval.
Classifications are based on enrollment and include each school's population in grades nine through 11 as of Sept. 30 in even-numbered years, as submitted by the superintendents.
There 197 member schools in the MPSSAA.
