Water May Change Color in Havre de Grace, City Advises

Officials will flush the hydrants around Havre de Grace over a two-month period.

Beginning this weekend, Havre de Grace residents may notice their water looks a bit different, and the city offers guidance to stay safe.

Due to fire hydrant flushing, water pressure may decrease and/or the color of the water could change, according to an announcement from the city. The hydrant flushing will take place between Sunday, Oct. 19, and Friday, Dec. 19.

Authorities regularly flush hydrants to clear sediment from the pipes and to ensure that the water is flowing smoothly.
