Body Recovered In Susquehanna River After Cliff Jumping: Report
After a man did not resurface in the Susquehanna River, officials said the Susquehanna Hose Company sent crews to help find him.
A man reportedly died cliff-jumping north of Peach Bottom Saturday afternoon. Crews from the Susquehanna Hose Company were among those that responded to the emergency in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, after a man jumped into the Susquehanna River and did not resurface, according to authorities.
The dive unit and swift water unit were both responding to the call, the Susquehanna Hose Company reported before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.
Officials said the man jumped into the water in the area of Mount Johnson Island. The location is about 25 miles north of Havre de Grace.

He jumped into the water from an area known as "The Cliff" or "The Rock" that is 20 to 30 feet above the river, located near railroad tracks, according to Lancaster Online.
The body of the 20-year-old man was recovered around 7:45 p.m. Saturday in water that was about 40 feet deep, according to Lancaster Online.
