6 Rescued From Island Near Deer Creek, Authorities Say
Swiftwater rescue personnel saved multiple people stranded near Deer Creek and the Susquehanna River.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Six people were rescued after becoming stranded on an island in Harford County Sunday morning, according to officials.
Four children and two adults were saved, according to Jenn Chenworth, spokeswoman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. Chenworth said the victims had safely reached shore by noon, and nobody was injured.
The swiftwater rescue team was dispatched before 11:30 a.m. to help the group of stranded people, according to the Susquehanna Hose Company. Authorities said the incident was in the area of the Susquehanna River and Deer Creek.

At 11:35 a.m., the hose company reported boats were being launched after the Level Volunteer Fire Company found the victims. They were in an area off Deer Creek near Stafford Road.
