Weather Prompts Harford County Public Schools to Make Change

Citing the "impending snow storm," Harford County Public Schools officials canceled all after-school and evening activities on Thursday, Jan. 2.

The Alternative Education Twilight Program, school-sponsored activities and events held on school property were all canceled, according to a statement the school system issued Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Harford County and the Baltimore-Washington region, effective from 6 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday. Havre de Grace may get up to five inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

"We will continue to monitor the storm trajectory," the statement said. "At this time no decision has been made regarding tomorrow’s schedule. We will notify you via the usual communication channels, if tomorrow’s operating schedule should change."
