Wedding Band and Two $1 Bills Stolen: HdG Police Blotter

Residence ransacked on Chesapeake Avenue, checks stolen from business, ex-girlfriend damaged back door and other Havre de Grace crimes.

The Havre de Grace Police Department provided the following information:

A residence in the 1000 block of Chesapeake Drive was burglarized. A woman said that at 7:44 a.m. on Aug. 1, she came home from work and her things were gone. Someone had entered her apartment through a window, ransacked the residence and taken her wedding band and a 14-carat gold ring with diamonds on it. In addition, two $1 bills were taken. The estimated loss was $1,002.

Someone in the 100 block of Bloomsbury Avenue reported a scam just before 7 p.m. on Aug. 6.

A credit card was reported stolen in the 800 block of South Washington Street before 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 6.

Checks were stolen from Laughing Crab Catering in the 100 block of South Washington Street, reported at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Aug. 5.

A girl’s bike was stolen in the 100 block of North Union Avenue, reported at 11:39 a.m. on Aug. 4.

A vehicle was vandalized in the 700 block of Green Street, reported at 2:02 a.m. on Aug. 4.

A back door was damaged in the 100 block of North Washington Street, reported at 11:37 a.m. on Aug. 3. The victim said his former girlfriend had been banging on the door and yelling at him for half an hour. When she left, he noticed the top pane of the door was cracked and needed to be replaced. The estimated loss was $10. The victim was referred to the commissioner for pressing charges.

A silver 2010 Jeep Patriot was vandalized in the 200 block of Canvasback Drive, reported around 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 2. The driver’s side mirror and body panels were damaged. The vehicle had been parked in front of the owners’ house.

Someone used an individual’s business account to make $183 in unauthorized transactions. The theft was reported in the 800 block of South Union Avenue at 2:08 p.m. on Aug. 2.

A pink and white girl’s 16-inch bike was stolen in the 600 block of Lewis Street, reported just before 4 p.m. on Aug. 1. It had been in the front yard and was not secured.
