Why Go: It’s the first weekend that casinos in Maryland can stay open 24 hours, after expanded gambling passed through referendum.

Live Music at Tidewater Grille
When: 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29
Where: 300 Franklin Street in Havre de Grace
Why Go: Folk-rock band Sabrina! plays.

Live Music at Laurrapin Grille
When: 7–11 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29
Where: 209 N. Washington Street in Havre de Grace
Why Go: Local Chris Walters takes the stage.

Havre de Grace Church Tour
When: 2–4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30
Where: Havre de Grace United Methodist Church is the starting point
Why Go: It's the 14th year of this event, according to Explore Harford, which features five historic churches in town. 

NYE Dinner at Bulle Rock
When: 5–9 p.m. on Dec. 31.
Where: 320 Blenheim Lane in Havre de Grace
Why Go: Silks Restaurant is offering complimentary dessert (see the complete New Year's eve menu here).

Live Music at Tidewater Grille
When: 7–11 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31
Where: 300 Franklin Street in Havre de Grace
Why Go: Local singer Chris Walters will perform for New Year’s Eve.

War of 1812 Bicentennial Party
When: 8 p.m.–1 a.m. from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1
Where: 100 Lagaret Lane in Havre de Grace (Havre de Grace Community Center)
Why Go: Eat heavy hors d’ouevres and find out about the War of 1812 Bicentennial celebration occurring in Havre de Grace in May 2013. (Ticket sales help with the cost of the event.)
Cost: $35

Music and Champagne at MacGregor’s
When: 8:30 p.m.–12:30 a.m. from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1
Where: 331 Saint John Street in Havre de Grace
Why Go: Live music from No Pro Bono and a free champagne toast at midnight.

Temple Adas Shalom’s New Year’s Eve Celebration
When: 9 p.m.–1 a.m. from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1
Where: 8 N. Earlton Road in Havre de Grace
Why Go: Watch the ball drop from Times Square  on TV while listening to live music from Simply Business and munching on hors d’oeuvres.
Cost: $30 per person, $10 for ages 13 and younger

Duck Drop and Fireworks
When: 10 p.m.–1 a.m. from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1
Where: 401 Lewis Lane in Havre de Grace (Havre de Grace Middle School)
Why Go: See the annual duck drop from a Susquehanna Hose Company ladder truck, then watch fireworks put on through the City of Havre de Grace.
