What's Open And Closed In Havre de Grace For Presidents Day 2018

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Monday is Presidents Day, and that means government offices are closed in Havre de Grace and around the state. Presidents Day always falls on the third Monday of February, which this year is Feb. 19.

The holiday celebrates President George Washington's birthday. Many schools, offices and government buildings will be closed.

Here's a look at what's going to be open and what's going to be closed for Presidents Day this year:

Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.

Government: Havre de Grace City Hall will be closed. Harford County, state of Maryland and federal government offices will be closed too. The Havre de Grace City Council meeting normally scheduled for Monday will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Harford County Public Library: All branches will be closed.

Harford County Public Schools: Public schools in Harford County will be closed.

Museums: The Havre de Grace Decoy Museum will be open.

Parks: Parks will be open.

Postal Service: There will be no mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.

Stores: Most are open. Presidents Day is a big day for sales. While it may not enjoy the significance of shopping days like Black Friday or Cyber Monday, you're sure to find more markdowns that usual. Check out sales at the Harford Mall.
