Wind Restrictions in Effect Near Havre de Grace

The Hatem Bridge was under wind restrictions, and National Weather Service said to tie down outdoor furniture.

With winds howling outside Sunday morning, state transportation officials issued wind restrictions on two bridges, including the Hatem Bridge.

Empty box trucks were not allowed to cross the Hatem Bridge due to high winds, the Maryland Transportation Authority reported just before 9:30 a.m. Vehicles vulnerable to high winds (e.g., motorcycles) were also prohibited from crossing. The wind restriction was downgraded to a wind warning by 5:45 p.m. on Sunday, according to the authority.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Harford, Baltimore, Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties, effective until 11 a.m. on Sunday. Winds may gust up to 50 mph, according to the weather service, which advised people to secure outdoor furniture and be cautious when driving high-profile vehicles.
