Winter Weather Changes HdG Trash And Recycling Schedule

Residents in the city of Havre de Grace will have different pickup dates for trash and recyclables through Saturday this week.

HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Curbside collections in the city of Havre de Grace will slide back by one day through the end of the week, due to winter weather. The trash and recycling collection slated for Wednesday in Havre de Grace will shift to Thursday.

Collections that were to be picked up on Thursday will be pushed to Friday; and those whose pickup day was Friday will have their trash and recycling picked up on Saturday.

The contractor that is responsible for curbside collections, Waste Industries, notified the city of Havre de Grace that it would not be picking up items on Wednesday, Feb. 7, "due to the winter storm weather forecast," according to a statement from city officials.

The city issued a robo call to residents and posted notice of the change on its website.

Harford County is under a winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain from 3 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
