Women's 5K by the Bay Opens Registration for 2013

Registration has opened for the Women's 5K by the Bay.

Now in its seventh year, the Women's 5K by the Bay starts at Tydings Park and takes participants around the Havre de Grace waterfront and historic downtown.

Organizers announced this week that a maximum of 1,000 women will be allowed to sign up for the April 14 event, which raises funds for various charities.

This year's recipients are the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program and the Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna.

• Registration is $25 before March 27.
• Registration is $30 after March 27.
• Race-day registration is $35 and will begin at 6:45 a.m. on April 14.

Women over 60 years of age get a $10 discount.

Runners can also sign up at Charm City Run in Bel Air on April 12 from 3 to 7 p.m., and on April 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Women's 5K by the Bay will start at 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Tydings Park.
