Youth & Adult Drama Programs in HdG this Summer
The Havre de Grace Drama Guild has camps and classes for 3rd graders through adults this summer in theater and film!
Does your child love the stage, or maybe just want to work on becoming more comfortable in front of an audience? Have you or your children always been curious about how movies are made and wanted to try your hand at some of the skills involved? Then you have to check out what the Havre de Grace Drama Guild has in store this summer!
Theater Camps
Summer Stock is the Guild's summer theater day camp program for children who are entering 3rd through 12th grades. There are two camps. "Summer Stock Teen" is a two week half-day camp for those who are rising 7th through 12th graders. "Summer Stock Youth" is a two week half-day camp for rising 3rd through 6th graders. Both camps culminate in a performance on the final night.
Both camps will be held on July 18-21 and 25-28 at the Havre de Grace High School auditorium, 700 Congress Avenue. The teens will meet from 12:30pm to 4:00 pm with the youth meeting from 9:00am to 12:30 pm. Both camps will conclude with a performance at 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 28. Registration for each camp is $100 plus a $10 admin/insurance fee ($15 for non-Harford County residents. Download a registration form and pay all fees at http://hdgdramatroop.com/registration.html.

Film Workshops
KEG Productions, the film production wing of the Havre de Grace Drama Guild, once again will be sponsoring three, single day summer workshops, each focusing on a different aspect of film-making. On Saturday, July 16, from 9am-4pm, they will bring you a special workshop for rising 3rd through 12th graders focusing on the art of acting for the camera. Film is a different medium than stage, and as a result there are some nuances between acting for one versus the other.
KEG Productions will offer two other workshops as well, both for rising 6th graders through adults. These provide a great opportunity to do something alongside your tween/teen! On July 23, resident KEG makeup artist Mary Kay Coughlan teaches an all day workshop on the art of makeup design for film, touching on both straight and special effects makeup. Finally, on July 30 professional stunt performer/fight choreographer Dylan Hintz ("Black Mass,' AMC's "TURN") introduces students to the art of choreographing realistic looking combat for the camera.
All three workshops run from 9:00am-4:00pm and will be held at the HdG Activity Center, 351 Lewis Lane. Advance registration is required. Each workshop is only $30 plus a $10 admin/insurance fee ($15 for non-Harford County residents), or you can register for all three for a discounted rate of $80 (plus the one-time $10/$15 admin fee). Download a registration form and pay all fees at http://hdgdramatroop.com/registration.html.
