UPDATE: Power Restored to 1800 Hunt Valley Homes

The outages started at around 11:50 p.m on Tuesday.

(UPDATE 11:20 a.m., Wednesday)— A power outage that originally affected 1800 Hunt Valley homes was caused by a faulty overhead wire at a nearby electricity substation, said Rachel Lighty, a spokeswoman for Baltimore Gas and Electric. 

Lighty said service was restored to all customers at around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday.

(Original)— Approximately 1,400 Hunt Valley homes have been without power since around 11:50 a.m., according to Baltimore Gas and Electric.

BGE crew members are currently on the scene investigating the cause of the outages, said Rachel Lighty, a spokeswoman for the company.

Lighty added that 1,800 homes had initially lost power but it was restored to 400 of them.
