Cockeysville Hair Cuttery Salons Partner with Krausey’s Koats to Help Folks Stay Warm This Winter

Hair Cuttery salons throughout the Baltimore metro area are collecting gently used coats, jackets, hats, scarves and mittens for Krausey’s Koats, a national effort to gather cold-weather gear for those in need this winter. The collection takes place now through Jan. 1, 2012.

Donations can be brought to any Hair Cuttery location in Cockeysville (Ashland Marketplace or Cokeysville-Yorketowne) during normal business hours.

All collected items will be delivered to local missions and homeless shelters, and a variety of non-profits serving the needy, such as: St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Salvation Army and Cradles to Crayons. The transportation and delivery of the winter gear will be handled in collaboration with the United States Army.

Hair Cuttery, the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country, partnered with the Krausey’s Koats campaign last year in the Philadelphia area and successfully collected 6,500 coats for those in need there. “This year,” says Dennis Ratner, Hair Cuttery Founder and CEO, “with the expansion of the program into other regions of the country, we hope to collect even more cold-weather clothing for those in need. That would certainly make it a merrier holiday for all of us.”

Krausey’s Koats was started by Philadelphia radio personality Joe Krause with the support of IBEW Local 98 six years ago.
