Crash Blocked I-83 South at Shawan Road

HUNT VALLEY, MD -- A crash on Interstate 83 snarled traffic on the southbound part of the highway at Shawan Road for approximately one hour, transportation officials say.

Three vehicles were involved in a collision on I-83 at Shawan Road at 11:07 a.m. on Monday, according to the Coordinated Highways Action Response Team (CHART).

As of noon, all lanes of I-83 south were closed. Traffic was getting by on the right shoulder only, CHART reported.

By 12:15 p.m., the State Highway Administration reported all lanes had reopened.
