While New Year's Eve attire isn't color specific, she recommends jewel tones, reds and other bright colors for a festive feel.

"But you can never go wrong with the classic little black dress," she added.
For a more casual get together such as a house party, fitted jeans or leggings paired with a dressy top is a good way to get noticed without going overboard.
And New Year's Eve is the perfect time for men to show off their dapper sides.
Alan Pressman, a clothing specialist and manager at , urges men to ditch the tattered sweat pants and t-shirts for sport coats, turtle necks and a nice pair of denim jeans.
" that are non-dimensional," Pressman said. "The great thing about these and tweed or sweater jackets is that they are very versatile and can be dressed up or down."
At a slightly more formal gathering, he encourages men to opt for slacks over the more casual denim.
Pressman also suggests cashmere and brush cotton shirts, which have a lighter feel than flannel, for those looking for comfort.
"People respond to how well things feel," he said.
Blue is the most popular color for men to wear, Pressman said. However, younger men and more fashionably adventurous older gentlemen are starting to favor brighter colors such as pink and purple.
But if you're at a high-end country club affair, stick with a classic tuxedo.
