Celebrate Earth Day in April 2012!

This year, the Northeast Interfaith Peace Garden celebrates Earth Day with two eco-films, a neighborhood clean-up & seed sharing, and a labyrinth walk, all to welcome Spring & remember our responsibility to care for all of creation. Please join us for one or all of our Earth Day activities!

Monday, April 2, 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.        Mission Helper Center          Food, Inc.

This 2010 Oscar-winning film lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that's been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Featuring interviews with experts in the field, Food, Inc. reveals surprising and often shocking truths about what we eat, how it's produced, and where we are going from here.

Monday, April 16, 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.      Mission Helper Center          Blue Gold: World Water Wars

This 2008 award-winning film documents the environmental issues behind why we are rapidly losing our fresh water supplies, the politics behind water ownership and distribution, and the scenarios of what will happen as water becomes increasingly scarce. It looks at how we are desertifying  the planet, and moving our world to a point where experts say we are less than 50 years from a collapse in the planet's water systems.
