Cockeysville is celebrating the 28th annual National Night Out, an event to promote safety and foster police and neighborhood relations.
Creative Kids — a full service non-profit community center at 25 Tradewind Circle — will hold its event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event is free to the public and will feature a family-friendly, carnival-style atmosphere with an emphasis on bolstering community.

Jennie Fumarola, director of Creative Kids, said the decision to host the event for a second consecutive year came to her the moment she saw children eagerly engaging with police officers during last year’s smaller event.
“Creative Kids is all about community and keeping the community safe, and kids protected,” she said.

The Cockeysville location will feature carnival games and prizes as well as speakers from the Baltimore County Police Department, Precinct 7 Community Outreach Team.
Fumarola expressed that while all are welcome to the event, there will be an emphasis on the children and, “empowering them with good information to keep them out of trouble,” she said.
