Backbends are some of yoga’s most challenging poses and if not done properly can result in injury. Backbends improve posture and flexibility. However for some people back bends are difficult to do because they may have stiff backs, weak abdominal muscles or other physical limitations. By using the support of ropes attached to a wall, this workshop helps individuals do backbend yoga poses. Suzy Pennington, certified Iyengar instructor, conducts the class scheduled for 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Susquehanna Yoga, 12-A W. Aylesbury Road, Timonium, MD. The class is $45, for more information, or to register call 410-308-9950, or go to Syogastudio@gmail.com.
