Free Festival, Art-AGstravaganza, Sat., Oct. 10 at Balt. County AG Center

FREE fest.! Art-AGstravaganza celebrates art and agriculture - live music, art, food, Chalk Art Fest., Sat., Oct. 10, Balt. County Ag. Ctr.

Looking for a great free fall festival? Spend the day at Art-AGstravaganza, Sat., Oct. 10, 11am -5pm at Baltimore County Agriculture Center (1114 Shawan Rd. Cockeysville, MD 21030). Enjoy an art show and sale featuring hand-crafted pieces from artists (painting, jewelry, pottery, etc.), live music by Hop’t (blues & rock), Sons of Riley (rock) and Midway Fair (folk / rock), alongside beer, wine and delicious food (Dizzy Cow Pizzeria, The Sultan Food Truck, Craving Potato Factory, Flavor Cupcakery, Dejon Winery.

This fun also includes a chalk art festival, organized by event artistic partner, Mural Masters, Inc., a Baltimore-based company which specializes in producing innovative wall art. “Chalk art is such a welcoming form of artistic expression,” says Shawn James, founder of Mural Masters, Inc., “because artist and non-artists alike can roll up their sleeves and participate.”

Participants will receive pastel chalk and a designated place to create unique agriculture-themed pieces. Register online @ https://createart.wufoo.com/forms/z8xtj310ewdub5/. The fee to participate is $10 per spot. Photos and drawings are provided for inspiration.

Families, businesses and Baltimore County and City public schools are encouraged to work as teams, and enter their designs into the festival competition. Cash prizes are awarded, and include 1st place, $500; 2nd place, $250; and 3rd place, $150.

Art-AGstravaganza works to connect art, agriculture and community in meaningful ways, and is a partnership between Baltimore County Arts Guild, Maryland Agricultural Resource Council and Mural Masters, Inc. The event is sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank.
