Historical Society of Baltimore County Building Undergoes Renovations
Six museum rooms are being transformed into spaces for reading and research.

The building is undergoing renovations to turn its museum rooms, which held exhibits and historic local artifacts, into spaces for reading and research.
"We're trying to revisit and hone in on what our mission is," said Adam Youssi, a Historic Society administrator. "And that is to collect, preserve and interpret the history of Baltimore County."
The Historical Society shares its space with , which assists in the funding of the building's upkeep, Youssi said. Four of the rooms in west wing are used for government purposes while the Historical Society largely occupies the east side.

The Historical Society existed at its current location at 9811 Van Buren Lane in Cockeysville since 1959.
"We hold about 4,000 library volumes related to Baltimore County history," Youssi said. "We also have more than 7,000 photos from the 19th century to today."
