Hunt Valley Business Forum Elects Eric Miller As New Chairman
Tuesday 14 October 2014 Hunt Valley, MD – The Hunt Valley Business Forum (HVBF) announces Eric Miller, Managing Partner, Smart Performance Strategies (SPS), has been elceted its new chairman. Miller was elected to the position by the Board of Directors.
Miller founded Smart Performance Strategies in 2004 and has been Managing Partner of Smart Performance Strategies since 2013. His specialty is in developing performance models using web-based assessments and the company’s unique information to help identify good hires, retain the right people, and develop leaders.
“We are proud and excited to have Eric Miller as our new Chairman, succeeding Steve Spund, chair and leader of our organization’s success since 2008. Eric brings 38 years’ experience making organizations and their people successful. As a master of collaboration and growth, we’re sure his insights and leadership will benefit our goals to continue to grow and serve our community,” said Vice Chair Sue Fenimore.

Smart Performance Strategies represents companies of many industries including Healthcare, Services/Consulting (IT services, Marketing/Advertising, Architects), Publications, Calibration, Legal, International Food Distribution, Accounting, Insurance, Fuel Management, Technology, and Non-Profits.
Prior to founding Smart Performance Strategies, Eric had a 22-year military career where he served in a command and senior staff assignments in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He commanded, led, and managed organizations in size from 40 to 2,000 personnel. Graduating from the US Army Airborne and Ranger Schools and the US Army’s Command and General Staff College gave him superb skills when it comes to knowing people and assessing what it takes to make an organization successful.

Eric is a former president of the Timonium Chapter of Business Network International, former Vice President of the Baltimore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and had held leadership positions at other Baltimore area business associations.
Eric also is an avid mountain and rock climber. Helping people “get to the top” is part of his personal and professional life.
