Local Defense Contractor Ranked Among Area's Best Places to Work

AAI Corporation designs, manufactures and engineers aerospace and defense technologies for the U.S. Department of Defense.

, a Hunt Valley defense contractor, was named to the Baltimore Business Journal's list of "Best Places to Work" for the sixth consecutive year, according to a press release from the company.

“Every year since 2006, our employees—in great numbers—have consistently expressed to the Baltimore Business Journal their opinions about AAI as a great place to work and grow in their careers,” Anna-Maria Palmer, AAI vice president of human resources and security, said in the release. “The results of the publication’s survey show our employees have positive attitudes about AAI’s benefits and compensation package, working conditions, job satisfaction and other factors that together make us one of the region’s best places to work.”

For 2011, 30 businesses in the area were eligible for awards in four categories based on company size. AAI, which has 1,650 employees in the Baltimore region, was honored in the large business category.

The press release also states that the corporation was also honored by Baltimore Magazine, which named AAI in its list of "Best Places to Work in 2011, earlier in the year.
