COCKEYSVILLE, MD — A Baltimore man has been identified as the one responsible for a series of nonfatal stabbings at Hunt Valley Towne Centre before he was shot and killed. He would not drop his knife when ordered to do so and was shot by police, authorities said.

Jamaal Ramone Taylor, 31, of the 6000 block of Amberwood Road, was accused of injuring five people at businesses in the shopping center. Police said he threatened people with a knife inside Hunt Valley Wine, Liquor & Beer before 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, then cut three people in the store. After he left, police allege he stabbed two others before running away toward Shawan Road.

When police encountered him on Shawan Road at McCormick Road, authorities said Taylor would not drop his knife, so they shot him.
