Light Rail Riders Sound Off on Train Delays

Riders are frustrated by frequent breakdowns.

this week, and some riders are getting fed up.

Donna Braxton, 48, a resident of Baltimore City, takes the light rail every weekday for work in Sparks.

“It’s always broke down,” she said of the service.

Braxton said the delays are most inconvenient during rush hours. Even on a good day, it takes her a long time to get home. Wednesday evening, she expected she'd be two hours later than usual.

“It’s terrible,” Braxton said.

Holly Swiston, 21, an employee at the Hunt Valley Towne Centre, shares a similar sentiment. The Baltimore City resident uses the light rail three or four times a week.

“It’s a little frustrating,” she said. “They should be more on top of what’s happening.”

Joe Morton, another Baltimore City resident, didn’t think Wednesday's delay was a big inconvenience. He was using the light rail service to catch a movie at the .

“You got to take the good with the bad,” he said. “Got to deal with it. It beats paying gas, right?”

This was Morton’s first time using the light rail line.
