Police Seek Monkton Burglar
The burglary occurred in 16900 block of Gerting Road in Monkton.

Police are searching for a man accused of burglarizing a Monkton residence on Feb. 29.
Between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. that day, from a residence in the 16900-block of Gerting Road.
A neighbor observed a suspicious small black or green four-door vehicle in the driveway at the home, according to an email from Lt. Robert McGraw of the . That same day, another homeowner, who lives on Manor Road, told police that he saw a man knock on the door and peep through the windows of his home. When the homeowner confronted the suspect, he ran off and left the area in a small to medium size green car.

Police said the suspect is described an "ordinary" looking short-haired man who is of medium height and build. The car's license plate may contain the numbers "6978" and could be from Maryland or Pennsylvania.
In his email, McGraw describes what may be the burglar's prefer to operate.

"It appears that at this time that the suspect(s) pull up into a driveway, park, and then knock on doors to see if anyone is home. If no response then they look into the windows and if no movement is seen, will then break in and take items that can be easily hand carried. If they are confronted by a home owner, they will flee the area."
Anyone who observes the vehicle or suspect is asked to call the police.
