Radio Host and Author Brian Wilson Coming to Hunt Valley for a Book Signing Event
His latest book is a heartwarming and true story of a first love. He'll be at Greetings and Readings on September 16th.
When you think of Baltimore radio, especially fun, witty, laugh-out-loud radio, you probably think of Brian Wilson. Perhaps it’s Brian and O’Brien in the 80s on B-104 or talk radio at WBAL in the 90s and 00s. Maybe you remember his other shows on WOCT, WQSR, WCBM, or WHFS. So when you hear that Brian has a new book out, you probably assume it’s about zany radio jokes or the latest goings on in DC. But as Brian says, “That would be wrong.”
Watercolor Memories: The Story of Lauren is a charming tale of high school romance. He describes it as, “Boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy finds girl – but this time, it takes 15 years, two proms, college, marriage, divorce, kids, careers, over 10,000 miles, a chess playing cop and some strange guy with a beard.”
While much of the story takes place in northern New Jersey, the Baltimore area played a significant role in the evolution of the project. “I started my original scribblings in 1981 when I was working in New York. I took a fresh look at it when I moved back to Maryland. Most of the book was written when I lived in Parkton and then White Hall,” he notes.

“I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to come back to Greetings and Readings. I did a book signing there for my previous book, The Little Black Book on Whitewater. We’ll be there for Watercolor Memories on September 16th. I hope to see some friendly faces there… maybe the Dundalk Overhand Bowling League will show up!”
The author of this love story hasn’t changed his stripes too much – you will still find him behind the microphone discussing current events for his Libertas Media Projectpodcast. “Judging Freedom” includes a rowdy conversation between Brian and FOX News Senior Judicial Analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano.

While a Brian Wilson podcast seems like a natural, these days he appears to be a little more interested in the written word rather than the spoken word. His next project? Another book of course. This time the topic is a bit more in keeping with expectations. Fifty Stories of Fifty Years in Radio is scheduled to be out before the holidays.
When he’s not podcasting or writing, Brian spends time on his bass boat. If he’s not fishing near his home at Smith Mountain Lake, you might just find him on Middle River or near Havre de Grace, “chasing the elusive bass.”
Brian Wilson will be signing his latest book, Watercolor Memories: The Story of Lauren, at Greetings & Readings in Hunt Valley on Saturday, September 16th from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
