Sparks Goddard School to Participate in Attempt to Break World Record
Goddard schools across the nation are working together to break the Guinness Book record for Simon Says game.

Goddard Schools across the country, including the one in Sparks, are teaming up to attempt to break the Guinness Book record for the world's largest multi-site simultaneous Simon Says game.
Nearly 100 preschoolers are expected to participate at the Sparks school. Nationwide, thousands of preschoolers are scheduled to be part of the coordinated games of Simon Says at more than 370 Goddard schools, according to a press release.
District 3 Councilman will be playing the role of Simon, and North County News reporter Pat Vanden Beemt and will serve as witnesses to make sure Guinness guidelines are being followed.

The rules state that all players must be able to participate independently without any help. The participants are the Sparks four pre-school classes and any parents able to attend the event, which starts at 1 p.m. on school grounds.
The record to beat is 12,153 participants, which, according Guinness World Records website, was set on June 14, 2007 at the Utah Summer Games Opening Ceremony.

"We felt this was a fun, once-in-a-lifetime experience for our students," said Mike Glasser, owner of The Goddard School in Sparks.
