Team Hereford Zone Seeks Members, Funds

The group is participating in Reachout & Run, a 5K run/walk put on by HopeWell Cancer Support.

Team Hereford Zone, which is participating in the , is still seeking members and donations.

The 5K run/walk is hosted by , a Lutherville-based nonprofit organization that provides free services to cancer survivors and their families. Familes with kids and cancer patients who may struggle through the 5K are invited to partipate in a one-mile walk.

So far, Team Hereford Zone has recruited 25 participants and raised about $500, said Jamie Lacey-Moreira, a member and HopeWell volunteer.

The funds raised for the race provide about 20 percent of HopeWell's operating budget.

HopeWell also provides a once-a-week training session for those who need practice to walk or run the course.

The 15th annual Reachout & Run will take place at on April 22. The race starts at 8 a.m. but participants can start registering at 7 a.m.

More than 60 teams are participating in the race.
