President Obama is scheduled to reveal his latest attempts at offsetting global warming by issuing new ‘climate change’ mandates with the goal of reducing carbon pollution. It should be noted that Obama will issue these mandates by executive order, as he correctly understands that these proposals would not be approved by Congress. So, once again, he is bypassing the legislative arm of Congress, and following his own pet beliefs, not the interests of the American people.
It is expected that he will propose additional burdens on the coal industry, as well as the overall utility industry, which burdens will result in significantly higher energy costs for the American people, and the possible demise of our coal industry, which has recently provided as much as fifty percent of our total energy needs.
